After months of waiting, Adnan was seen in his much slimmer and fitter avtar but there was no progress being made on the film.
While there were murmurs about the film being shelved, no official statement was being made by anyone associated with the film. However, now comes the confirmation and that too straight from the man who is looking at exploring his career as a leading man but in an altogether different project.
"Yes, Bela's film with me in lead has been shelved and it's final. The project was conceived 4 years back and things have changed since then.
It was about a fat man looking for love. I was excited about kick starting my acting career with the film but by the time the script came into shape, I too got into 'shape'", winks Adnan who has recently returned from a very successful tour that saw him driving as many as 5 Live concerts at London, Scotland and Amsterdam.
"Since I look different from the way I did some time back, I could no longer relate to the script. Hence, I had to bow out of it", Adnan clarifies.
Has this led to a rift between T-Series and Adnan considering the two have been associated with each other for years and both the parties were really looking forward to the making of this much anticipated film? "No issues at all with T-Series", Adnan vehemently denies the charge here, "They completely understood my point of view. In fact I had a long chat with Bhushan (Kumar) and he was in sync with me that continuing with this script didn't make sense at all." Will T-Series continue to be the first production house with which Adnan would like to be launched as a hero or would he be willing to venture outside as well?
"Let's cross the bridge when it comes", smiles Adnan, "Right now I am concentrating on the albums/film soundtracks that I am composing for. As for T-Series, I have had a long association with them and a fruitful one at that. It would be wonderful to work with them again on my movie.
Meanwhile, I am anyways working on my next private album with them so yes, no rift there at all."
